Since this week is CRTs (and the kids are doing great so far!) we are not going to have a normal spelling routine like we usually do. I don't want there to be any extra pressure added to the testing week so we are not going to have homework this week, and we are not going to do standard spelling which everyone is graded on this week.
Instead, we are going to do extra credit spelling tests. This will be a list of 24 words that students are working on during this week and practicing in the afternoons after testing is done. Students who wish to take the extra credit test will be able to do that and any words they get correct will be counted as extra credit in any subject they choose (which is something many of the students need right now!). The whole class will be given the challenge spelling test on Friday for those students who choose to take it. It is extra credit, after all, so I am not going to require anyone to take it!
