Roof Top Views!

Here are pictures - yes still from day 1 of the trip (I told you I was picture happy, didn't I!?). This is the view of and from our terrace on the third floor. Pretty cool place to live, I have to admit!

Me with the Albaicin rooftops behind me. I don't look half bad for having traveled for the last 25 hours and grocery shopped before this was taken! :)

Me again with the Alhambra (an Arab castle/fortress) in the background. Supposedly it is the eighth wonder of the world. Looks WAY closer in person and is pretty cool. Can't wait until I get to go visit!

The Alhambra all lit up at night.... gorgeous, isn't it?!

Another view of the terra cotta rooftops looking out toward the Sierra Nevada!

Sunset in the Albaicin. Beautiful!

Alhambra during sunset and the Sierra Nevada in the background - ah, European life! :)

The terrace at the house. Pretty neat. The white curtain style thing inside the barred off area opens up so the center of the house gets direct views to the outside. When the weather is nice it is perfect!

Up the street from my house. The streets are SUPER narrow up here so it's nice that I don't have a car. :) They are all super scratched up from having to park right on the cement posts and stuff to allow enough room for the buses to go through. Yes, buses actually can fit up those roads... it's pretty skilled driving! And in the foreground there (to the far left) you can see the post for the neighboring nunnery which still operates. I have only seen one nun since I have been here though and I didn't have my camera. It made my day to see a real live Spanish nun but broke my heart I had not one piece of photo evidence. Another day!
